Resellers
Resellers live under your tenant — middlemen who brought VMGateClient capacity and earn a share of the traffic those clients carry.
Reseller under your tenant
A reseller is not a second tenant and is not a Customer. Customers send SIP traffic to you; resellers procure and operate VMGateClients on your networks and take a rate share you configure.
When you sign in as the tenant, you always see the full picture — every Customer, every VMGateClient, every reseller, all call history. Reseller linkage is for attribution (who brought the capacity) and for payouts, not to hide data from you.
Resellers page
Open Management → Resellers. The table lists each reseller’s name (and company name when set), email, VMGateClient count, how many are online, balance, billing type, and status (Active or Inactive).
Use this page as the roster of middlemen operating on your network. Counts and balances update as clients enroll and as calls are billed.
Invite a reseller
Click + Invite Reseller to onboard a middleman under your tenant. Provide contact email and name.
Your VMGate subscription and tenant ownership stay with you — the reseller does not replace your billing relationship with VMGate.
How resellers are linked
Reseller attribution is separate from Customer and trunk setup (chapter 06). Typical linkage points in VMGateServer:
- Join Codes — the Join Codes table includes a Reseller column: a reseller name when the code carries attribution, or Direct when the code is tenant-managed. VMGateClients enrolled through a reseller-tagged code inherit that reseller on the network membership.
- VMGateClients — a client enrolled through a reseller’s join code carries that reseller on its network membership. Active Calls and Call History show the reseller on each session (or Direct when none applies).
- Rate plans — under Rate Plans, create a plan with scope Reseller, then use the ⋮ menu → Associate to attach it to a reseller. One rate deck per reseller defines their payout prefixes.
Customers and trunks are not reseller-scoped in the portal — wholesale ingress stays on the Customer records you manage in chapter 06.
Balances and payouts
Under Finance → Billing, the overview includes Owed to resellers alongside Customer and VMGateClient totals. To record money sent to a middleman, use Record payment, choose Reseller payout OUT, pick the reseller, and enter the amount.
Call History detail includes Reseller cost when a session ran through a reseller-scoped rate plan — use it to reconcile payouts against traffic.
